Need Storm Windows?

Tired of searching for them and finding only salespeople trained to sell replacement windows?

We provide:

  • High efficiency, custom storm windows (optionally with a Low-E coating)
  • Evaluation of your wooden windows by an independent qualified authority
  • Complete wooden window and door service, including repairs, replacement, weather stripping, reconditioning and restoration.
  • New handmade solid wooden windows and doors.

How We Work:
Talk to an expert! For a $50.00 fee (plus mileage if outside of Louisville or Lexington) we will visit your site for an inspection of your windows and doors. We will advise you on their condition and help you to understand what is needed to make your home or business more energy efficient, long-lasting, and beautiful using your existing wooden windows. You are under no obligation to purchase anything from our company. If you decide to pursue storm window installation, window maintenance, or replacement, we will be happy to provide you with our services, but there will be no high-pressure sales tactics. That’s not how we do business.
A close look at your windows and doors will often generate a discussion regarding the age of sash, old and modern methods used to balance and hold sash, methods used to reduce air leaks and improve function, and the benefits of efficient storm windows and other solutions that will improve performance and longevity.
About Us:
Laryn Karsnitz began his window restoration business in Lexington, Kentucky, in 2003. With ten employees and two offices (Lexington Wooden Window and Door Reconditioning Company in Lexington and Heritage Wooden Window Works in Louisville), we are capable of handling projects of any size. We are very knowledgeable about the advantages of repair over replacement, and when window replacement is necessary we can guide you through the process of selecting quality material that will last a lifetime.

Our Craft:

We are restoration contractors, specializing in reconditioning solid wood windows and doors. We have largely completed projects for private homeowners, but we have also served commercial clients. Our scope covers minor maintenance to full historic restoration. We are experts in retrofitting interlocking metal weatherstripping into older sash, and our methods significantly improve the maintenance cycle for windows. We perform our work in the highest form of the art.
